National Hunt Chase Odds

A Strong Hand!

A Strong Hand!

In true tabloid fashion, we're taking what a trainer has said, twisted it a little, added a pinch of salt and manufactured a rivalry between the northern based trainers and the southern ones. It's not quite the crips vs the bloods, but Ferdy Murpy is quite passionate about it and would love to have a good week in the Cotswolds. He reckons some of his fellow trainers in the north have been treated like "hillbillies". That's given him extra motivation and Poker de Sivola in the National Hunt Chase could land him a lucrative prize. A fortuitous winner last time out, the trainer believes the seven year old will appreciate the step up in trip. You'll be feeling a little flush if Poker de Sivola romps up the Cheltenham Hill in front! Wed 1.30pm C4/RTE/RUK

Neptune Novices' Hurdle Odds

Somewhere Over the....

Somewhere Over the....

As you may or may not know, even with the intrusion of a bigoted and corrupt U.S. Senator, Finian's Rainbow all ended happily with someone running off with a pot of gold – we think. That's about as accurate as Wikipedia gets about the broadway musical that shares its name with Nicky Henderson's well-fancied runner in the Neptune Novices' Hurdle. Chances are though, that race will have a similar ending. The seven year old outclassed his rivals last time out and has shown plenty of ability throughout the season. "He would have a major chance," Henderson said assertively, adding, "I'm expecting a very big run." It's not quite 'he'll definitely win' but it's as close as we're likely to get. You won't be chasing rainbows if you back Finian's! Wed 2.05pm C4/RTE/RUK

Champion Chase Betting

Bow To The Master!

Bow To The Master!

Not content with having one of the best steeplechasers in the world in the shape of Kauto Star, owner Clive Smith went into the market for a top class two miler. £300,000 and a trip to France later, Master Minded came to our attention in 2008. Since then he's gone on to become one of the best and that was confirmed when he won a second Queen Mother Champion Chase last year. Now he's going for the hat-trick. "I want it for the horse," Smith said, before adding he's a hard man to please, "The horse needs to win it three times to get his just desserts". Master Minded looks unbeatable so Forpadydeplasterer has Master-ed the course before and could be a real option in the Betting W/O Master Minded market. Wed 3.20pm C4/RTE

RSA Chase Betting

Paddy's Amnesty!

Paddy's Amnesty!

Lies, damned lies, and statistics. Probably something you should bear in mind before you read our suggested winner of the RSA Chase. Nicky Henderson's duo of Long Run and Punchestowns are the long term first and second favourites respectively for this race, but we don't believe the hype about either being "the next Kauto Star". Instead, possibly in a bid to get some free flights, or one of those air hostess calendars, we think the Michael O'Leary-owned Weapon's Amnesty will win. Unfortunately, a bit like Ryanair, he's a bit slow to take off. His jumping has been suspect and he recently fell at Limerick. That said, all the trends point to him as the winner. Use our Faller Insurance market as a Weapon and you could get you money back either way!! 2.40pm C4/RTE/RUK

Champion Bumper Betting

Banging the Drum

Banging the Drum

He's doesn't quite have a 'Dermot Weld at Galway' record… just yet, but if Willie Mullins continues to saddle Champion Bumper winners, we will petition Cheltenham to change the name of the race – something like the Willie Race. Erm... ok, maybe not. Since the bumper was introduced at the Festival in 1994, the Irish in general have dominated with Willie landing 6 of 13. However, James Lambe could be in the winner's enclosure at Prestbury Park with his impressive Drumbaloo. Not that he'd fill you with confidence. "Drumbaloo's future really lies over hurdles, but I'm pleased to have Choc Thornton booked for Wednesday's race," he said, not commenting on Choc's own lovely golden mane. We're trying to Drum up some support for the six year old because he'll probably win! Wed 5.15pm C4/RTE

Bordeaux v Olympiacos

What's The Difference?

What's The Difference?

Struggling for form and now only leading Ligue 1 on goal difference, Bordeaux could see a potentially great season turn to one of disappointment. Laurent Blanc doesn't seemed too bothered though. "During our bad run, no team has gone ahead of us, which is the most important thing, the only positive and, perhaps, they've missed their chance. We're still first, still in the Champions League last 16, in the final of the League Cup. I see things, I read things, I hear lots of things but if this is a crisis, I can't imagine what you'd do if the team was 17th." The Frenchman clearly isn't prone to panic and is unlikely to make sweeping changes ahead of the second leg against CSKA. Leading 1-0 from the first leg, Laurent won't mind being Bord' if both sides draw a Blanc. Wed 7.45pm SS1
