Football
Sunday’s Community Shield turned out to be the mouth watering affair no-one really anticipated. Chelsea can revel with the fact they beat the current champions. Man Utd can convince themselves it was a meaningless match but the reality is that they’ve a lot to ponder.

No one needs to be reminded about the start of season. Both the English and Scottish top divisions start at 12.45 on Saturday.

Money-Back Special - Paddy Power will refund ALL losing single pre-match Win-Draw-Win, Correct Score, 1st-last-anytime Goalscorer, Scorecasts and Half-time-Full-time market bets on any match that finishes 0-0.

Golf
The final major of the year begins on Thursday. Woods is obviously the man to watch, but Harrington looks like he’s finally found a bit of form just in time to defend his title.

Others to watch include Lee Westwood who shot a 65 on the last day at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational and Mickelson who missed the Open Championship. Hunter Mahan and Steve Stricker two of the most consistent golfers on the PGA tour this season, both with top 10 finishes last weekend.

Extra Place Special - To make it a little easier to pick a winner, we’re paying 1/4 odds 1-2-3-4-5-6 PLACES on the 2009 USPGA Championship! That’s SIX places!

Tennis
With just two weeks to go to the US Open, the stars are in Montreal to compete in the APT Rogers Cup. Roger Federer makes a return to tennis five weeks after winning Wimbledon. This event is a perfect opportunity for Roger and everyone else to apply their trade to the hard court. Plus it’s a great opportunity for the shrewd punter to do some last minute research for the US Open.
