League leaders Chelsea can further enhance their title hopes with a victory at fellow challengers Arsenal on Sunday. Since the arrival of Roman Abramovich at Stamford Bridge in 2003 the Blues have a good record against their London rivals. In 18 matches the west London side have won eight games and picked up five draws. Last season saw them record an impressive 4-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium.

Didier Drogba loves playing against the Gunners and has bagged eight goals in his last eight appearances against them and can be backed at 6/1 to open the scoring.

Andrei Arshavin is one of Arsene Wenger’s many ‘game changers’ though and since his arrival from Zenit Petersburg in February he has started in 20 Premier League games - winning 14 and losing only one.

The little Russian scored four at Anfield last season and opened the scoring in the Gunners defeat at Old Trafford earlier in the season and you can get 11/4 on him scoring at anytime and keeping this record of scoring against the big teams up.

Chelsea’s win last year is the first time since the 2005/06 season that either side has won by more than a goal and I see this one being another tight encounter. I’m going to back Arsenal to win 2-1 at 8/1. But remember if Drogba scores last in this match, Paddy Power will refund all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast single bets on the match.

Everton take on Liverpool in the first Merseyside Derby of the season.

The Reds have a good record at Goodison Park in the league in recent years having recorded six wins in the last eight matches.

David Moyes’ side do have a good record at home this year though and despite a 6-1 thrashing on the opening day to Arsenal they are unbeaten in five at Goodison.

Belgian Marouane Fellaini featured in four games against Liverpool last season (twice with Standard Liege and twice with Everton) but was only on the winning side once. The Reds have a history of conceding from set pieces and with Fellaini’s height I fancy the 9/1 on him to open the scoring. With both sides in patchy form a draw could be on the cards and I would back the 2-2 scoreline at 11/1.

Tottenham travel to Aston Villa following their 9-1 victory over Wigan last weekend. If we’re going to follow form here, four of the last five games between the two have ended with a 2-1 scoreline while Jermain Defoe has also grabbed four in as many starts against Villa. Tottenham to win 2-1 is 17/2 while Defoe to open the scoring is 11/2. Combine the two for a 60/1 scorecast.

West Ham need to start collecting points at home if they are to make their way up the table and the visit of Burnley could give them just that. The Hammers have just one win at Upton Park this season - a 2-1 win over Aston Villa - and have lost three times. The visitors have picked up just one point on their travels and have conceded 20 goals from their six away games. I fancy West Ham to take all three points and kick start their season with a 3-1 win at 11/1.
