AP McCoy was a deserved winner on the sports personality of the year award, with over 3,300 wins, being the champion jockey 15 years running and winning the Grand National being the deciding factor for him this year.
Many races were abandoned last week due to the weather.
We did have “Nightjar” who opened up at 7/2 and won keeping the profits rolling for us.
This week ahead we have some of the best racing of the year and Limerick Race Course will host just 3 days of good racing due to the weather.
Here are the best bets over the holiday period, assuming that racing does go ahead!
Greenmount Park Novice Chase (subject to rescheduling), Sunday 26th Dec @ 2:15 – The Hurl.
Pulled up in a hot Cheltenham Hurdle previously but won a chase by 10 lengths last time out. May well be more to come.
Tim Duggan Memorial H’cap Chase, Monday 27th Dec @ 2:50 – Deal Done.
Has consistent place form in the book and worth an each-way bet.
The King George VI Chase, Sunday 26th Dec @ 3:00 – Forpadydeplasterer @ 10/1.
Step up in trip could well surprise a few and expected to go well.
Paddy Power Chase, Monday 27th Dec @ 3:05 – Becauseicouldntsee @ 12/1.
Solid form and run last time out will have this one spot on for a good run.
The Welsh National, Monday 27th Dec @ 12:25 – Dance Island @ 10/1.
Has course form and the 2nd to Burton Port at Aintree gives this one a solid chance.
