Horse Racing Tips – Weekend’s Selections

What a run for our money we got on Nakayama Festa in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe on Sunday afternoon.
He went off at massive odds of 22/1 and was pointed out as an each-way value bet in the winning post.
He took the race up in the last half furlong and was just beaten the shortest of heads by Workforce. The same applies to StrawberryDaiquiri who finished a good second. Overall the place bets returned good stakes back for punters.

This Friday evening we have a good card at Dundalk to enjoy. The best race of the night is the listed race over 7 furlongs with €60,000 in prize money up for grabs.

Kevin Prendergast has a horse called Tell the Wind who won over course and distance last time out beating a useful sort in Emerald Ring (who has since came out and won at this track).

The filly will have to improve to land this race but the form has already been franked and she will like the track here which is important.

Trainer Mark Prescott has Krypton Factor entered and I am keen to see where this one runs this weekend – if he travels to Dundalk we will take notice.

Friday Dundalk 19:30 –Tell the Wind.

The Carraig Insurance Hyperion Conditions Stakes is a class 2 sprint due off at Ascot on Saturday afternoon.

The stand out entry for me is Galtymore Lad, a winner of 3 races and placed 3 times from 8 runs. This colt has been running well in good events.

What interests me is he beat Avonmore Star (ridden by Richard Hughes) last time out by 12 lengths and now we see the jockey booking for Saturday is Hughes. He is obviously interested in this horse as Avonmore Star must have been well regarded.

Galtymore’s previous race he was 2nd to Wotton Basset who is in my opinion is one of the greatest horses in Europe at this moment and would not be out of place in the 2,000 Guineas (He also won a group 1 at Longchamp last weekend).

Saturday Ascot 1.55 – Galtymore Lad.

On Saturday we also have racing at Fairyhouse and one I really like is Cybersnow in the handicap hurdle.
I had seen this one winning a competitive hurdle race when I was at the Galway festival last year and he is a very good hurdler.

A winner 3 times over the distance of 2 miles and a 5 times overall on ground that varies from firm to soft.
In his last 3 races he has won twice and was only beaten about 2 lengths last time out – sure to give a good account and is of interest this weekend.

Saturday Fairyhouse 3.15 –Cybersnow.

All bets should be to win and to place.
