Weekends Horse Racing Tips
There’s plenty of action this Saturday, with some of the top tracks in the U.K holding racing. The race of the day goes at Newbury, the Greatwood Gold Cup, where Tony McCoy and Can’t Buy Time should take a lot of beating. Doncaster holds a decent card with the Grimthorpe Chase head lining that meet. Kelso, Kempton and Gowran also hold jumps cards. I only fancy the following two, along with Can’t Buy Time.
In the opener at Newbury I fancy Victor Dartnall’s King Henry. Considered good enough to run the Champion Bumper last year, he could be potentially well in here. In his first bumper, he lowered the colours of Paul Nicholls’ Pepe Simo, who is no slouch. He was running a decent race behind Supreme Novice hope Bellvano before coming to grief at the second last. His last run can be excused as the ground was far too soft. He didn’t run all that bad in that race and the form has been franked. He should go well at around 10-1.
In the opener at Doncaster, the drying ground is sure to suit the Donald McCain trained Overturn. He has been set some tough tasks to date in unsuitable ground carrying quite a bit of weight. Truth be told, he probably wasn’t getting home but the quicker conditions should see him in better light. He was rated 88 on the flat and if he learns to settle better, could take some catching.
