Short of making a late night visit to the stable, Betting Without the Favourite is the best way to take the favourite out of the equation. If you think that the horse that you fancy won't beat the favourite, you can still get a good price in the Betting Without Market.
As you will understand, because your horse doesn't have to beat the favourite, the price will be slightly reduced compared to the Starting Price (SP).
| Example One 1st Sure Thing 2/1 Favourite 2nd Your Horse 3rd Always Third In this example, we effectively ignore the fact that the favourite has finished 1st. For our purposes in this market, the result of the race is: 1st Your Horse 2nd Always Third 3rd Another Horse Your horse has finished second to the favourite and in the Betting Without, this makes it a winning bet. |
Example Two 1st Your Horse 2nd Always Third 3rd Sure Thing 2/1 Favourite In this example, the favourite hasn't won, your horse has, so you still have a winning bet. - Each way betting is available on most Betting Without markets. |
