Irish Lotto Betting
The Irish Lotto is one of the most popular lotteries in the world, known for its straightforward format and flexibility. But betting on the Irish Lotto at Paddy Power is a whole new ball game. Instead of purchasing a ticket for the official draw, you’re placing a bet on the numbers you think will come up. And if your chosen numbers match, you win. It’s as simple as that!
There are six Irish Lotto draws every week; three on a Wednesday evening and three on a Saturday evening. You choose between one and five numbers, out of a selection of 47, that you think will be drawn. Seven balls are then drawn by the Irish Lotto machine, six standard numbers and a bonus ball.
The more numbers you choose to play, the higher the odds you will get if you match all those numbers. And you have to match all the numbers. It's not like a traditional lottery that pays out for matching just one or two.
That's not the only way to bet on the Irish Lotto though. At Paddy Power, we offer a range of Lottery Specials you can also pick from. For each draw, you can bet on whether a specific ball will have an odd or even number, the colour of said ball, or which number ranges the ball will fall into. Additional special bets available to place include betting on the highest or lowest value ball, and whether all the numbers could be odd or even, or fall within a certain range.
How Do Irish Lotto Odds Work?
Odds are the magic that turns your predictions into potential payouts. At Paddy Power, the odds reflect the probability of your numbers being drawn. The more numbers you bet on, the higher your potential winnings.
Here is how we break down the Irish Lotto odds at Paddy Power:
Match 1 number: 6/1
Match 2 numbers: 60/1
Match 3 numbers: 700/1
Match 4 numbers: 7,200/1
Match 5 numbers: 130,000/1
So, if you bet £1 on matching two numbers, and they come up, you’d win £60. Fancy a flutter on three numbers instead? Your £1 bet could land you £700. And, if you can predict the future and match all five numbers, you could bag yourself a whopping £130,000 from a single £1 bet. Now that’s what we call a winning formula!
For the additional bets available under our Lottery Specials, odds vary a little more. Simply betting on a specific number being odd or even will pay out at 5/6. Betting on a colour or number range of a ball will pay out at 5/2 or 11/4, depending on your choice. And should you think all the numbers could be odd, or will be numbered 1-23, for example, you would receive odds of 80/1 and 100/1 respectively.
What Other Lotto Types Can I Bet On?
While Irish Lotto betting may be one of the more popular lotteries to bet on at Paddy Power, it's not the only one. We offer the ability to bet on various lottery results from around the globe, including: Daily Millions, UK 49s, New York Lotto and Spanish Primitiva.
Each lottery game works similarly, in that you pick one to five numbers to bet on. However, the number of draws to bet on varies, and each game offers a different number of balls to select from. Due to this, the odds for other lotto games can vary slightly.
How To Bet On Irish Lotto With Paddy Power?
To bet on Irish Lotto results at Paddy Power couldn't be easier. To start, head to the Irish Lotto betting page. From there, you can see when the next main draw is, and you will have three draws to choose from; the Main draw, the Plus 1 draw, and the Plus 2 draw. You can play any individual draw by itself, or choose to play all three.
Next, you get to pick your numbers. Click on any of the numbers displayed, and as you make your pick, you will see the odds of your bet presented. Once you've selected however many numbers you want to play, click the "Add" button to then add these lines to your Paddy Power betting slip.
Here, you can enter your stake to play and select whether you want to play with just the six standard numbers or tick to include the bonus ball. Note that when you include the bonus ball in play because you are adding an extra number to the mix, the odds of your bet will be reduced, as will your potential returns.
Once you are happy with your selections, all you have left is to place your bets and wait for the draw to happen. You can find out the results of the Irish Lotto by logging into your Paddy Power account and checking on your settled bets to see if your picks were successful.
