UFC Betting

The Ultimate Fighting Championship, most commonly referred to as UFC, has enjoyed a meteoric rise in popularity over the last decade. These days, the sport’s biggest stars are household names around the world, and interest in the goings-on inside of the octagon is undoubtedly at an all-time high. Similarly, UFC betting is also enjoying a surge in popularity amongst fight fans given the number of options to bet on the UFC and the level of competition across the divisions. This is especially the case when it comes to all things to do with UFC Betting in the UK as enthusiasm amongst the four nations continues to skyrocket. MMA betting, in general, has seen a big uptake, but the UFC is the main force behind it driving this.

UFC Odds

The UFC odds at Paddy Power are presented in the same way that traditional odds are for almost every other sport with the favourite being priced low whilst the outsider is at higher odds. For instance, when Conor McGregor took on Dustin Poirier for the third time in Las Vegas, the Irishman was at UFC betting odds of 6/4 whilst the fancied Poirier was at just 8/15. As it turned out, McGregor would break his own leg after a misstep during the first round which handed the victory to Poirier, but more on how to capitalize on the method of victory later and which MMA odds to choose.

When all is said and done, MMA betting odds are no different from any other sport and once you’ve had a look at the various prices on display, you’ll soon become an expert on who to back, where there’s potential value and when to give a fight that is too close to call a wide berth. Our site has fictional and decimal odds formats to suit your preferences.

MMA Betting Markets

Here at Paddy Power, there are many betting markets you can choose from, including Match Betting and many more.

Round Betting

The round betting market is one for the UFC fanatics who know their fighters and when they are most dangerous. Indeed, all you need to do here is predict what round a fight will finish in so you’ll have to decide when the fight will be stopped, which, as previously mentioned, is one for those who have a sixth sense when it comes to UFC betting. With that said, it’s not only intuition that can be used to help predict when a fight will end but also in-depth knowledge of the sport.

Indeed, history often tells us during what rounds certain fighters are at their lethal best, which shines a great deal of light on when they might be able to seize the advantage and dramatically stop their opponent.

Method of Victory

When it comes to deciding on the method of victory, you’ll need to know what attributes a fighter has and what type of style they normally favour in the octagon. For example, if you’re betting on a match that the man-mountain Francis Ngannou is fighting in, and you’re weighing up his potential method of victory, the informed decision would be by way of brutal KO or TKO as the heavyweight champion has recorded an astonishing 10 knockouts in his career.

Another popular option is a win by way of submission. In essence, this is when a fighter uses grappling techniques and forces his opponent to submit, or more commonly referred to as tapping out. You can of course also bet on a fighter being disqualified during a bout, but needless to say, this happens very rarely.

Perhaps the most common method of victory however is by the judges' decision on points at the end of a fight. This often happens when fighters have similar technical abilities and cancel each other out during the fight, it is then left up to the judges to decide who has done enough to be crowned the winner.
