Verdict: The most interesting runner in the field, and by some way, is the William Haggas-trained Thunder Call. A Group 1 entry on Champions Day is notable and both his York win, and his latest Newmarket third where he didn't appear to enjoy either the track or the ground, offer a strong hint that he is still well ahead of his mark. He has missed an engagement on account of fast ground though and at the likely prices the going is a sufficient concern to look elsewhere. Red Spells Danger is a rock-solid handicapper who should give his running but FIGJAM is an interesting alternative. Katie Scott's filly has been up against it in strong company this season and the switch to handicaps could see her in a more favourable light.[Paul Smith]
