Tips
Verdict: Both Gordon Elliott and Willie Mullins have put together powerful squads. However, veteran trainer Bill Durkan may thwart the big stables with his Swinton Hurdle runner-up LAAFI who has improved since his last Irish run. El Cairos, who ran in two Grade 1 novice races, leads an Elliott team that includes two other strong contenders in Ndaawi and Casheldale Lad, winner (promoted) and third respectively here 12 months ago. Paul Townend's choice of Murcia is interesting, but she needs to raise her game. Tony Martin's record in this race is such that Putapoundinthejar merits much respect. [Alan Sweetman]
