Verdict: Aidan O'Brien-trained 3yos have dominated this race in recent years and Constitution River is accordingly much respected even though he was only workmanlike, as opposed to impressive, in beating stablemate Hawk Mountain in the French Derby. A Boy Named Susie shaped well in that Classic and could land a major prize when the cards drop right. The Sandown factor, among other things, makes GETHIN and Saddadd rock-solid contenders among the older runners and plausible alternatives to Constitution River from a punting angle. The selection's latest effort is a highly notable piece of C&D form, while the second choice is 2-2 at this venue. Furthermore, both 4yos are progressive and may well rate higher still.[Steve Boow]
