Tips
Verdict: The picture would have been a lot clearer if Amiloc (second choice) had been able to put his stamina to the test in the Goodwood Cup, rather than having his jockey part company with him leaving the stalls. He has a good chance on his best form but is also unraced on ground worse than good to yielding, so, with plenty of rain forecast yesterday, that may be one risk too many. If the seemingly moody Illinois is discounted, there is not that much between the others but the most solid option under the likely conditions is CABALLO DE MAR, if he has recovered from his Gold Cup exertions. Al Nayyir may be best of the rest.[Richard Austen]
