Tips

Verdict: Handicap newcomer Thunder Call is a tempting option under crack Australian jockey Zac Lloyd but this could go to FIRST LEGION (nap), who has run well on all three previous visits to York and is edging down the weights. Red Spells Danger was seriously impressive at Hamilton and is third choice ahead of Advertised, who had an excuse at Newmarket last time. Postmodern is respected for his bang-in-form yard and good cases can be made for lots of the others, too, including Cape Ashizuri, Man Of Vision, Chicago Pope, Fortification and Alaminos.[Ben Hutton]
