Tips
Verdict: From the inside draw, LINDERMANN gets the vote to record a second Group 1 success. He's clearly in form having landed a strong Group 2 last time and he likes to race from the front, so getting stall 1 has worked out nicely. The niggle against his chance is he's 0-2 at this venue, which includes an eighth in the 2023 edition of this race. The obvious threat is from two-time course winner Cosmic Crusader following his third-place finish in the 7f Memsie Stakes here, when Buckaroo was fifth and Birdman was sixth. He had a wide draw that day but gets this trip fine, and will probably improve for it. The aforementioned Birdman, a stablemate of the selection, is also expected to do better for the extra distance, as he won the 1m2f Doomben Cup in May. He's reportedly been kept fresh for this contest. Buckaroo, another from the Chris Waller stable, finished on the tail of Cosmic Crusader in the Memsie Stakes and won this in 2024 before finishing runner-up last year.
