Tips
Verdict: Another fancied horse with a good draw at this meeting is LADY SHENANDOAH. A three-time Group 1 winner, two over this sort of distance, she's never been to Caulfield but did post a solid comeback effort behind two top-class fillies in the Winx Stakes, with the runner-up from that race already coming out and winning. Angel Capital, fourth in this last year, was below his best 21 days ago, probably not enjoying the slight ease in the ground, but he's generally a reliable type and gets this trip. Evaporate ran well behind Cosmic Crusader (who runs in the Underwood) two runs back before winning at Sandown recently, posting a figure not a long way below his best, but stall 17 is potentially horrible, as is 16 for the interesting Yellow Jersey, who was a nicely progressive type for Andre Fabre last season, albeit over much further than today's trip. He's run nothing more than two fair races so far in Australia. Defending champion Sepals must be respected as he'll have been aimed at this and has a decent draw having been in 14 in 2025.
