Tips
Verdict: The Instant Classic. An amazing race. The strength of the early pace will be crucial here. Knightsbridge has a good chance in his own right, given his last two performances, but he and Napoleon Solo should make it a torrid gallop. Forever Young (second choice) will not be far behind them and it will be up to the latter's jockey Ryusei Sakai to time his challenge for the lead. From the back of the pack, Golden Tempo and SOVEREIGNTY will come calling, with the former being the more needy of a complete pace meltdown. As for the selection, his season has not gone to plan but the Whitney was certainly a step in the right direction and he can crown his career with a signature win. Three-year-olds The Puma and Napoleon Solo have a lot on their plates, though the latter is a dual Grade 1 winner and could be a shade underestimated. [James Willoughby]
